Q: How do I get there?
We are 5 minutes outside of Hitchin. 30 mins North of London by train which run regularly from Kings Cross St Pancras. We are a short taxi ride from both Hitchin and Stevenage stations.
Q: Can I park?
A: Yes. Free parking is available on site.
Q: What about children, can they come?
A: We have a special family day package with forest school activities for children between the ages of 4 - 12, you can find out more here. There will be limited spaces so make sure you get your tickets quickly!
If you have children younger than 4 then you can bring them along. We just ask you respect the speakers so that they can be heard and email us to let us know that they are coming so we can plan for numbers. If you want advice on childcare options please email hive@bumblebeecollective.co.uk
Q: Do I need to pre-book onto workshops?
A: Wreath making and wine tasting workshops need to be pre-booked before Sunday 25th November. You might get lucky on the day but we strongly recommend booking your time slot in advance. Please note that when booking your time slot you need to be there on time and can’t change it.
Q: Do I need to pre-book lunch?
A: We have two lunch options. The Farmers Roast which will be served in the conservatory restaurant at 12:30 and 2:45. It will be free-seating so if you want to sit as a group then arrive early to get ahead of the crowd, but the whole spirit of the day is very much about meeting new people so being sat next to new people and sharing a lunch is a great way to do that. Spaces are limited so please do pre-book.
If you don’t want to have a sit down lunch then relaxed bowl food will be available in the barns. That way you don’t have to miss any of the speakers and gorge all day on brilliant talks. You don’t need to pre-book this option.
Q: What if my lunch or workshop clashes with a speaker I really want to hear?
A: We have tried to make a day that is filled with great content. We have workshops running at different times and two seatings of our Farmers Roast so hopefully you can work around your personal “must sees”. However if your workshop or lunch does clash with the time of a speaker you really want to hear then you will be able to catch up with them at the bar or their follow up fire pit chats - that is the bonus of an intimate venue. You can also opt for our lunch option in the barns so not to miss anyone speaking.
We will try and stick to the agenda stated but there may be an unavoidable reason which means we need to deviate slightly.
Q: I am a vegetarian/vegan/have special dietary requirements. Do I need to let people know in advance?
A: Yes please, it helps us accommodate for you. Either stipulate when you buy your ticket or else email hive@bumblebeecollective.co.uk
Q: Can I bring my own food and drink with me?
A: There will be casual food options available in the barn if you don’t fancy a full roast - and of course a free welcome drink and Black Cow cheddar toastie with the F1. If you have very specific dietary requirements get in touch.
Q: I don’t drink alcohol. Will alternatives be available?
A: Absolutely we have a well stocked bar and can be sure to fix you something you love to replace the Bloody Mary or cocktail included in the ticket price.
Q: What happens if the British weather plays up?
A: The show will go on, even if it snows. Main stage talks and panels will continue under the big oak barn rood. The fireside chats will be around the fireplaces inside and rambles will still take place, so wrap up.
Q: What should I bring with me?
A: Yourself and your curiosity is really all you need. But wellies or walking shoes for fresh air pursuits and comfy socks so you can get all cosy.
Q: I can’t make it, when’s the next one?
A: We are working on this now but fill out our get in touch form on the website or follow us on instagram and twitter.
Q: Are you recording the talks? Can we?
A: No we are not recording talks. You are very welcome (and we would love it if you did) capture some of what is shared on your social channels but please don’t film the entirety of the talks.
Q: I now can’t make it, can I get a refund?
A: Sadly not. But you can pass on your e-ticket to a friend.
Q: Do I need to bring my e-ticket? Does it need to be printed?
A: Yes
Q: What if one of the speakers doesn't show?
A: We are all human, things can happen that can’t be foreseen or avoided. Refunds are not possible for this eventuality.
